About the Analytical Momma

Logo-pic-biggerI’m a new momma, living in Austin, TX, and I tend to over analyze things, so I thought my analysis might be of use to someone else on the interwebs.  Some of my favorite things to analyze are motherhood, parenting, babies, birth, relationships, yoga, life and books.  I am a birth junkie, which was not at all marred by my unfortunate cesarean birth, and I feel passionately about birth and breastfeeding rights and support.  I am sort of crunchy, in that I teach yoga, cloth diaper, co-sleep, baby wear, and breastfeed exclusively and publicly.  But I’m also a slightly obsessive compulsive CPA with a passion for data, numbers, charts, graphs, and above all else, spreadsheets.  I try to stay healthy with yoga, running, and eating lots of veggies and whole foods, but I’ll also eat most anything you put in front of me, especially if it’s chocolate.  I’m an unapologetic nerd who has read the Harry Potter and Percy Jackson series too many times to count.  My spreadsheets are meticulously organized and my house is a complete wreck.  I tend to be an all or nothing kind of gal, so if I can’t organize the crap out of something, I’ve probably pushed it back into a dusty corner of my mind to live in neglect.  I have taken time off from full time accounting work to stay home with my little Analytical Baby, and I could not be happier with that decision.  He is awesome and sweet and entertaining, and the time is going by way too fast.  I am married to a wonderful man who makes all this techy stuff possible, and even patiently tries to teach me to program so I can one day make my own interweb sites.  I am not at all creative, extremely forgetful, regrettably clutzy, and annoyingly opinionated.  Welcome to the product of my analytical mind.
